maneuver envelope
A graphic representation of the operating limits of an aircraft. The axes of the envelope are the load factor and the indicated air speed from which the basic stalling speed, available load factor at any speed, maximum indicated air speed, maximum load factor, flap speed, and maximum structural cruising speed, etc., can be found. The envelope also can be used to compare capabilities of different aircraft and to lay down the design features of a new aircraft.
